The organic glass elements of the Elia earrings are known in Venice as sassi, or pebbles. Handcrafted from genuine Murano glass canes, each piece is paddle-flattened individually whilst the glass is still molten. Rather than being poured into a synthetic resin mould or stamped out by a machine, the shape is created by pressing the hot glass with hand-held graphite tools, leaving softly irregular contours and fire-polished, gently rounded edges.

Look closely at a pair and you can see the glassmaker's hand in the subtle differences between each piece. These variations are an inherent part of the process and give every pair its own character rather than the mechanical uniformity of mass production.

The glass becomes particularly striking when held towards the light. Fine wisps of colour move through the translucent surface, whilst light gathers and pools more deeply around the rounded edges. This optical depth and glow are hallmarks of authentic Venetian glassmaking and create a richness that flat plastic or resin imitations cannot reproduce.

The Murano glass is paired with 18K gold-plated brass and secured with butterfly backs and 925/1000 silver studs. Weighing just 2.75 g, Elia is designed to feel light and comfortable whilst bringing colour, texture and a softly sculptural quality to everyday dressing.
